Are you bald-by-genetics or bald-by-choice?
Bald-By-Choice
Bold, that's what it is. When I see another bald-by-choice guy, for a brief second, we connect. We get it. We're defiant, audacious. We let the rest of the politically correct clones follow the trendy buttplug commandoes of the so called fashion industry. I've noticed a pattern with headshavers. They tend to be hard working guys who get the job done in spite of the sarcastic monkee spankers also known as management. Bold and bald, the type of guys who will pull you out of a burning car but will drop you like a bad habit if you get in their face. And when the lifeless follower tries to discredit us with the usual stupid comment like go get a haircut, we smile and say, **** you very much. Rock on bald brothers, rock on.

Re: Bald-By-Choice
I was initially bald-by-choice when I started shaving daily in 2003, but I've slowly evolved into a guy with mpb. Last month, I stopped shaving to see what was left to grow out, and it was pretty disconcerting to see that bald-beyond-choice guy in the mirror...

Re: Bald-By-Choice
When I started scraping my scalp with a razor I had nearly a full head of hair. OK, maybe it was thin in some spots, but mostly it was all there. Nearly three years later who knows how much is actually left. My bald head has become my trademark, so for me there's no looking back. Even though I may be balder than I was three years back, I still consider myself bald-by-choice, because it's my choice to shave what little I have left.

Re: Bald-By-Choice
I like the bald beyond choice thing. I started shaving when I had a completely full head of hair, but can tell it's been thinning and receding based on the consistency of the stubble and whatnot. Doesn't bother me 'cause I wasn't planning on letting it grow back out, but it does take that choice away. Bald beyond choice is a good way to put it.

Yeah, I totally agree with Tyro and Timpac. I know I have significant MPB now, but I'm BBC again after the past month of walking around MPBBC with the horseshoe!

I'd like to know if any of you guys believe that headshaving speeds up hair-loss? Until recently, I was under the impression that frequent haircuts, especially close ones, stimulates hair growth.

It all has to do with genetics and not how frequent you cut or shave.McGrath wrote:I'd like to know if any of you guys believe that headshaving speeds up hair-loss? Until recently, I was under the impression that frequent haircuts, especially close ones, stimulates hair growth.

Started out in 1996 as choice, now it is a mixture of choice and genetics, but still mostly choice.

You can count me as another of the bald-beyond-choice guys.
My thinning front is showing much less of a shadow.

Re: Bald-By-Choice
If your so worried about a shadow, have you ever thought about tweezing or waxing? Those are the only methods to a completely shadow-free head. There's laser too, but that's very expensive.Webmaster wrote:You can count me as another of the bald-beyond-choice guys.

Re: Bald-By-Choice
I razor plowed a mop of long hair down the drain, so I guess you can classify me as bald-by-choice.
It was time for me to move on. Shoulder length hair on a thirty something dude is just a bad look.

How long does it take a Bald-By-Choice headshaver to become Bald-Beyond-Choice?
