Head shaving for stress relief?
I'm curious if anyone else has experienced this. Twice this week after stressful days at work, I've done a headshave and noticed an immediate calmness which wasn't there before. I'm trying to figure out what calmed me down: the shaving routine itself, the smooth feeling after the shave, the return to my comfort zone of a totally shaved head, or what. I'm thinking it's a bit of each, probably mostly a comfort zone thing. Anyone else been there?

It's the concentration required for the hand eye coordination used in the shaving process that triggers de-stress factors. And then the end result, a perfectly smooth head.

Headshaving is fine way to relieve stress at the start of a work week day.

It's about the sense of accomplishment that follows a task well done.

Stress reliever? Never thought of it in that way. Has something to do with concentrating on a task and getting the job done well. I see what you mean.

Yesterday, I filled up my SUV with gas. Seeing the PRICE was extremely STRESSFUL.
When I got home I took warm shower and slow headshave.
I have to admit it. The shave actually brought the level of stress down.

Whoa, I see I originated this thread almost 2 years ago. Nice to see some activity on the site again. I like what Luke said here, have the same feeling sometimes, just want to shave my head and relax. Actually I get stressed now when it's not totally smooth.

Life in 2012 is far more stressful than 2010. Anything that helps relieve some of the stress on a daily basis helps is a good thing.Troy wrote:Whoa, I see I originated this thread almost 2 years ago.

Re: Head shaving for stress relief?
I recently got a new job and with it comes lots of stress. After a long day at work, I head for the shower, lather up my head and give it a slow head shave. I don't know if it's the heat from the shower water or the process of shaving that relieves the stress, but either way I'm relaxed for dinner after the shower. Doing my headshave before dinner also saves me the time in the morning I need to prepare for work.
