Chilling Cars & Terrifying Trucks
Just in time for Halloween, here are a handful of rides with attributes that may scare the wits out of you.
Scary Rides by Sam Smith
The leaves are changing color, the days are getting shorter and candy is more plentiful on grocery store shelves. That can mean only one thing: Halloween is upon us. But while your neighbor's kids are deciding whether to trick or treat you this year, we turn our eyes to your driveway. Does your ride live up to the All Hallows Eve spirit? Does it have any attribute that could be considered frightening? In honor of the upcoming holiday, we've highlighted 10 of the scariest vehicles of all time. These cars and trucks offer a healthy dose of fear and loathing — some good, some bad.
Scary Big: 2004–2008 Navistar International CXT - The mother of all showroom pickups!
Scary Ugly: 2011 Mitsuoka Orochi
Scary Dangerous: 1970–1980 Ford Pinto - Feel like blowing up?
Scary Fuel Economy: Jay Leno's Blastolene Special - Drinks like a fish, sounds like a tank.
Scary Expensive: 1936 Bugatti Type 57SC Atlantic
Scary Fast: 2011 Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport - The world's fastest production car.
Scariest Tease: 2003–2006 Chevrolet SSR - The SSR shared a platform with GM's tepid TrailBlazer and Oldsmobile Bravada, which meant that it was slow and heavy and possessed the reflexes of a drugged elephant. This is fear you don't see coming.
