Ice Cube Aftershave
I thought I'd share this new part of my routine with you guys. A few days ago I took a cup of ice cubes into the bathroom before I got into the shower. I did my usual shower shave, rinsed off with a little cold water, and then went to the sink. I took an ice cube and rubbed it all over the dome until it melted away. I then repeated this with a few more cubes until I felt the dome was irritation free. Man, let me tell you, it was the best feeling as I was rubbing the cubes across the dome. Talk about a nice cool down. This method rocks. The ice cubes get rid of most of the irritation, so there is no need to use any post shave witch hazel or alcohol which dry the scalp up. After the ice cubes, I just apply some HeadLube and I'm good to go. Or just apply whatever aftershave product ya'll use. Now that most of us are in for warmer weather I say give it a shot. It's awesome.

I'm not subjecting my noggin' to ice just yet.
We had a brief intro to summer early last week with temps reaching the mid 90's.
Today it's back to the chilly 50's again.

I can see how that would work. The cold closes your pores. This would work great during the hot summer months.
Re: Ice Cube Aftershave
Today was the first time this season, I used ice cubes as an after shave. To sum it up, it was extremely invigorating.

I'm sooo jealous. Send some of that heat over to me. It's 50 degrees in Boston this morning. I had to go back inside my home and put on a warmer jacket.Soapbuddy wrote:It feels great in Palm Springs 100 plus heat.

Here come's that rainy day feeling again. I don't mind the rain so much in April. But this May has been too rainy for my liking.
The entire last week was wet, and so will the next five days. Here in the Northeast azaleas are at their peak and the rain will wreck havoc on them. It's the nicest time of the year and the sun should be shining brightly.

Ouch! I like the heat but that's too "intense" for me and my shaved head.Soapbuddy wrote: It was 105 degrees yesterday.
That was 105 degrees in the sun and not the shade! It does cool down quite a bit at night, doesn't it?

That's why my head needs a good sunscreen. It gets into the upper 80's to low 90's at night.
Re: Ice Cube Aftershave
I have done the ice cube bath as well, works excellent, for me I achieve my shine with a splash of cold water after the shave.
Here in NC it is warm, very pleasant, just right for doing some gardening.

So that's the secret to that awesome shine!
Cool...another gardener. This year I'll be harvesting record number of vegetables, including my first corn crops ever.

I learned about this over at SBG and I will say it works. It feels awesomely great in the summer time.
If youre in doubt...dont knock it until you try it.

Re: Ice Cube Aftershave
You mean steam. Which is actually is quite soothing for the head, especially before a shave.

Re: Ice Cube Aftershave
I always steam my head in the shower before I headshave. Softens the hairs.
