Christmas Trees Empty Christmas Trees

My wife doesn't like the mess that a fresh-cut tree causes. So during the last several years we've opted for an artificial tree with LED lights. Bad idea. A tree like that just doen't conjure up childhood memories. Nothing like the real deal and it's fresh-cut smell. The key to preventing the dredded early needle drop-off is providing the tree with ample water. I'll be in charge of our tree and will be providing it with lots of water.

We bought a very realistic looking artificial tree year, pre lit, which makes it a whole lot easier to decorate. It's a great looking tree, and can pass for real once fully decorated.

We have three artificial trees and they do look amazing. Our largest is a green one and stands in our front hall, traditional with lots of red and gold and ornaments. My wife's small white tree is decorated in silver and blue in the family room. My two boys have a tree of their own, decorated with action toys.

Live trees don't do very well out here in this arid climate. I've had artificial Christmas trees ever since I was a kid. The quality of man-made trees has remarkably improved over the years. You wouldn't even know they weren't the real deal.

We do have our version the perrenial poinsetta plant,

The Christmas cactus.

Nice plant there Luke.

We have artifical trees as well, and they are prelit..but only problem we have with teh prelit ones...sometimes a strand of the lights will quit working and then you have to add more lights to it. I think they need to do a little improving in that department. As for the tree itself....looks like a real one...sure does. Geezzz Beaver....Look at that tree!

LOL

Merry Christmas you all

Pre-lit / artificial is the way to go. The Cleavers definitely rocked.

Gee Beave, what did you do now?

I've known Rodger since middle school and in my honest opinion, my buddy Rodger has gotten into far more TROUBLE than the Beave ever did. Wink

Luckily my artificial tree lights are still ALL brightly illuminated. There's a inexpensive device you can buy that can detect broken bulbs. No need to through the tree out.

We're very traditional and prefer real trees, so we use a live one in a tub. Decorated by the whole family, it looks nice and welcoming. Presents are piled around it and we keep the animals away from it. The cats do love to try and climb the tree!

Again with tradition, we always make sure the tree and all decorations are down before the 12th day
after Christmas as my mother used to say it's bad luck to have them up after this time. Funny how
traditions stick even after all of these years...and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Weighing the pros and cons of the real and the artificial. Not sure what we'll be using this year.

An artificial tree with LED lights already in place works for me. Just take it out of the box, give it a shake, and it's good to go for another year..
