So the weather is turning COLD. What kind of HAT do you guys wear to protect your bald head? I'm currently sporting a wool knit cap which fits snuggly on my shaved dome.

My collection of custom-made Jackson Hole, Milano and Stetsons will do just fine.

That's some expensive collection you got there.

I prefer a wool knit cap, because you can always fortify it with a hood.

You can always fortify with ear muffs?

On my Christmas wish list is a fur-felt Fedora. Are you listening Santa?

Today's the first day I wore my new hat with earflaps. Nice and toasty next to my bald head.

Awesome hat Sanderson. With all the early cold weather we've been experiencing, it looks like I'll be purchasing a hat with earflaps this season. I haven't had one since I was kid. A little transgression is good for the soul.

I received a late Christmas present today: another Charlie Brown-type winter hat: plaid wool, chinchilla lined, with chin strap and ear flaps.

I've always said, I'd rather have a good hat anyday than a head full of hair!

I'm not big on earflaps. I wear Kangol Newsboys mostly.

Kangol's look cool, but will do nothing to warm your cold head.

The hat I wear the most is what my sisters call my mountain man hat. I don't know what type of hat it is. Though with the average Jan. weather in MN I have been wearing a wool knit hat.

Here is my mountain man hat:

Cool hat. Reminds me of one of my hats, a Canadian Mountie/ Confederate hybrid.

I had a "mountie" like yours Packer. T'was one of my all-time favorites until I wore it out. I'm currently looking in stores for a replacement. The cost of hats are not what they were 5 years ago. Can't believe the hefty prices they're asking.

If this coming winter is anything like last year's frozen zone, I'm buying a more practical winter hat.
One with ear flaps.

Same here. The combo of a fleece hood + knit hat = best insulation.

These fleece ear warmers with ear plugs look very practical.

Hoodies, ear muffs, knit caps look fine on the young generation, but an old timer like myself requires something more structured. I opt for my Fedoras & Trilbys.
