Military Inspiration

My Sheree had me watching Thursday's finale of Project Runway. The 3 finalists were the 40 something Mila Hermanovski, Bronx native Emilio Sosa, and 80's punkster family man Seth Aaron Henderson. I'm not an expert on ladies fashion, nor did I enjoy the show. Heidi Klum and guest judge Faith Hill were nice to look at though. When it came to the final decision, it was a shocker. Emilio Sosa should have won, but that was NOT the case.

Seth Aaron whose so-called collection was Nazi inspired won.


Has anyone else paused to consider Seth Aaron’s identification of “1940s German military” as the primary inspiration for his collection? In the 1940s, the German military was commanded by Adolf Hitler and the Nazi party, which perpetrated some of the greatest crimes against humanity, not least those of the Holocaust. I was shocked that Project Runway and the Lifetime Network would allow this military culture to be glorified and named as a source of “inspiration” without so much as a remark upon it by any of the judges. Heidi Klum should be reprimanded in particular, since she should have recognized right away what “1940s German military” would allude to, and what ramifications an endorsement of that idea would have.
