Skeleton Racer Zach Lund Now Bald

Zach Lund’s scalp is bare, the result of personal choice and of genetics. His baldness, once a source of anxiety for him and the roundabout reason he missed the 2006 Olympics in Turin, Italy, is now a symbol of his determination. Lund, a skeleton racer who was ranked No. 1 in the world at the time, tested positive for the anti-balding agent Propecia, was given a suspension in January 2006 after testing positive for the masking agent at a World Cup race the previous November.

“I either needed to let it go or just quit the sport,” Lund said. “Holding on to it and letting it have the negative effect it was having wasn’t helping me.”

Now, nearly four years after he was barred, Lund is back on course for his first Olympics. And he is now racing bald. “My biggest insecurity in my whole life was my hair,” Lund said. “Now, without hair, I’m as secure as I’ve ever been.”

Just proves how some destroy thier chances in life holding on to their fleeting hair. At least this guy has a second chance at claiming Olympic victory.

It takes a lot of kajunas to skeleton race. Why in the world would anyone destroy a chance for Olympic gold just to save some waning hair? Beats me!

May I interject that in order to medal in figure-skting you have to land at least one QUAD jump. Can you do a QUAD. Don't thnk so.

I'm an occassional snow-boarder.... I know what I'm talking about when it comes to winter sports.
Any sport on ice or snow takes major cajones.

Those topical meds have long term effects. Bald isn't so bad.

Messing with mother nature cost this guy big time. Too bad it took Olympic Gold to bring this guy into reality.

Just proves that you can learn from your mistakes.
