Are there any long term effects of headshaving?

Since I am now a hard core everyday headshaver I have to wonder what if there are any long term effects? Will exposure and repeated shaving toughen the scalp to slow or halt hair growth? Will using the range of lotions "clog" hair roots have a similar effect? Are there any long term shavers who can weigh in on this?

Shaving hasn't done anything, but mother nature may have.

I've not noticed any long term effects - other than now I hate having more than two days growth.

There are NO long term effects....
..... except not having to pay a barber twenty bucks every three or four weeks.

I think my scalp is in better shape now with all the moisturizers, lotions and TLC I give it.

Long-term effects? The more you headshave, the more addicting it becomes. When I first started headshaving I would go three, sometimes five days before my next shave. Now I can't go more than two days unshaved.

I don't think head shaving has any long term negative effects.

That's what my wife says daily headshaving has done for me.

I've become "obsessive compulsive" when it comes to NOT missing a spot.

Effects of headshaving:
1. Better looks
2. More confidence
3. Less dandruff/scalp issues
4. Can't stop looking at oneself in the mirror and say, "ohhh, yeahhh!" ;-)

I have to agree with ya on #4, especially after my morning shave. I commute by bus and can't help admire my freshly shaved dome in the window. I'm usually surrounded by lame middle-aged gents that are hair challenged. Why they don't embrace their god-given baldness by headshaving completely beats me?

NJ Transit buses are filled with those guys. I see more headshavers on the commuter trains.

The ladies can't keep their hands off my head.

Never have to stand in line at the local clubs.

I recently let my hair grow out for a week and discovered my hair is a lot thinner at the crown.
Could it be the stress of the daily shaves that caused this?

Scientifically speaking, your daily headshaves had nothing to do with your thinning crown.

Once you embrace the bald head for some time, it's hard to go back to the other side.
Scrape that hair from your noggin' and don't ever look back.

So I've finally arrived at an answer to this debatable question?

Of course there are long-term effects. Ever since I decided to bare my skull for the world to see,
I've noticed that folks tend to gravitate to me. Do I like it. Sure do.

Who doesn't like to be the center of attention.
