"Atlanta native Chip Wade has building in his blood, coming from a line of experienced carpenters and woodcraftsmen. Working closely with his father, Chip’s interest in carpentry and renovation was sparked at an early age. With a family project underway at any given time, he developed his skill with hands-on learning. This interest developed into a passion as he became proficient in both the design and execution of large-scale remodels.

Chip graduated from Georgia Tech with a degree in mechanical engineering and became certified in residential construction while working as a structural engineer in a home building firm.

In the fall of 2007, Chip’s energy and talents made him a perfect member of HGTV’s Designed to Sell as the carpenter on the Atlanta team. His creativity and expertise inspires viewers to rethink what can be accomplished with $2,000 and a three-day makeover.

HGTV's top-rated reality competition produced by Mark Burnett of Survivor fame, Design Star, makes for some really interesting viewing, but Really, I don't see any of these contestants being the next Chip Wade.
