Happy Koninginnedag (Queen's Day in NL)

Koninginnedag (or Queensday) is a national day in Holland celebrating the birthday of Queen Beatrix. It's somewhat confusing 'cause actually her birthday was on Jan 30, but her mother was born on April 30 and so that's why the nation celebrates that day.

There are a lot of parties going on in Holland, the biggest one of course is in Amsterdam. Thousands of people come there to party. In small villages Queensday is celebrated too with fleamarkets and other activities! And everywhere there's lots of fireworks. In some ways Queen's Day is the Dutch equivalent to England's Guy Fawkes Day. No matter where you live, have a happy day. Cool
